French and European Sport
Horses - Breeding to Win
Haras de Ravel
was established in 1986 on two hundred acres of the renowned
Normandy breeding region of France. It merged then with the St. Simeon Breeding
Farm. Directed by Priscilla Pottier-Glaser and Jean-Noel
Pottier, it has
become one of France’s leading breeding farms. Their carefully chosen
mares and stallions, which exemplify the finest qualities of French warmbloods,
have consistently bred international show jumpers and prize winners in breeding
and young horse championships.
Jean-Noel
Pottier comes from a family of fine horse breeders and trainers. Having ridden
and trained young stallions on his uncle’s farm, de
Thurin, he later acquired
the mare, Joyeuse de Thurin, to maintain this lineage. From the St. Simeon farm
breeding, and the subsequent merge with Haras de Ravel, came outstanding international
horses.
